HELLO LOVELY PEOPLE

Thank you for your interest in my lyrics. I'm pretty proud of my English, but I'm not a native speaker.

So maybe you'll find some small mistakes, although I have tried very hard. Then just be lenient with me.

For me, writing lyrics is the most difficult thing in the whole process of songwriting.

SANDY

We were young - and time was on our side.

Felt like desperados - the glory and the pride.

We found each other - and played with broken toys.

Had some hidden places - for our forbidden joys.

Life's so easy - walking hand in hand.

Island children - running on the sand.

We were lost forever - all over the land - so lend me your hand.

Sandy, Sandy - we were much too young.

We should have known better - where we went wrong.

Sandy, Sandy we were much too young.

We should have known better - where we went wrong.

I got Sandy pregnant - her fathers face was a sight.

We felt so unbelievable - everything seemed right.

We found a little home for us - we were feeling high.

Later that night don't-know-why - clouds formed in the sky.

Right next day her father - called me ... you were gone.

A fatal traffic accident - took my only one.

Life can be a killer - from now on I'm alone - ooooh.

YOU AND THE NIGHT

You - you and the night, my love

you give my life - this burning heat.

You - you and the night, my love

you make make my days - so complete.

You - and the glimpse of your eyes, my love

You - you and that smile on your face - so full of grace.

You - you and the night, my love

you give my life - this crazy beat.

You - you and the night, my love

you fill my days - with all I need.

ONCE
Once in a while when all your family's gone - what will be with your world?

And once in the future when the water is dust - what will be with the sea?

But nothing - nothing will change tonight - cause noone - noone's home tonight.

Once in your lifetime you have to be sure - what you'll be doing alone?

And once in the future when the last children sing - what will then be with the earth?

But nothing - nothing will change tonight

cause noone - noone's home tonight

Yeah - everybody's future is a knocked out tale - with an ocean fading away

and all the stars are shining - when mankind left the earth

Once in a while when human being's away - will there be anymore life?

And once in a fine day the trees disappear - can you imagine the scene?

But nothing - nothing will change tonight - and noone - noone's home tonight.

Once in the future the sun won't remain - what will then be with the days?

And once in a while when the clouds disappear -  what will you see in the sky?

But nothing - nothing will change tonight - cause noone - noone's home tonight.

Once in a while when all your family's gone- what will be with your world?

And once in the future when the water is dust - what will be with the sea?

But nothing - nothing will change tonight - cause noone - noone's home tonight.

ANGEL

It takes a loss for a man just to show what he had.

It takes something good for a woman to leave all the bad. An angel like you.

Hey - I've seen you today.

I wish I remembered the words I wanted to say. I've seen you today.

Hey - don't fly away.

I wish I could make you come with me my angel today. Don't fly away.

It takes a moment to lose someone down in the streets.

It takes rain from the sky to grow plants out of their seeds. An angel like you.

It takes pain for a man just to teach him a way how to feel.

It takes someone like you for a woman so lonely to heal. An angel like you.

It takes just a spark for somebody to set out a fire.

It takes wind for the eagle to spiral higher and higher. An angel like you.

NEVER MEANT TO BE

So we're standing here. Our minds so full of fear.

On our own again. Another sudden end.

Now there's you and me. We never meant to be.

We tried out to be strong. So many days along.

We thought we'd find a way. And now there's nothing left to say.

It's only you and me. We never meant to be.

It's only you and me. We never meant to be.

I WISH I WERE

I wish I were a forest - with high trees full of life. I'd love to. How I'd love to.

I wish I were a river - flowing to the sea. I'd love to. Yes I'd love to.

As long as I take care - my dreams will take me there - anywhere!

I wish I were an island - palm trees on the beach. I'd love to. How I'd love to.

I wish I were a mountain - reaching for the stars. I'd love to. Yes I'd love to.

As long as I take care - my dreams will take me there - anywhere!

I wish I were a playground - with children having fun. I'd love to. Yes I'd love to.

I wish I were an eagle - that spirals in the sky. I'd love to. Yes I'd love to.

As long as I take care - my dreams will take me there - anywhere!

I wish I were an ocean - shining in the night. I'd love to. How I'd love to.

I wish I were a desert - with dunes of warmest sand. I'd love to. Hmm I'd love to.

As long as I take care - my dreams will take me there - anywhere!

I wish I were a paddock - young horses running wild. I'd love to. Yes I'd love to.

I wish I were a cornfield - lie golden in the sun. I'd love to. Yes I'd love to.

As long as I take care - my dreams will take me there - anywhere!

I wish I were a dolphin - jumping out of joy. I'd love to. How I'd love to.

I wish I were a fast train - that takes me home to you. I'd love to. Yes I'd love to.

As long as I take care - my dreams will take me there - anywhere!

WE DON'T EVEN KNOW

Early morning singing birds - flying to the sea.
Like every song that birds will sing - their melodies are free.

Come and lay down by my side - look into the sun.

Watch our world with all your senses - it brings us so much fun.

We don't even know the way - that we should find today.

Our Mother Earth a paradise - with demons on the way.

Clouds are forming in the sky - seems we're getting rain.
Like drops of blood the raindrops fall - right out of her veins.

Some say rain's like tears my friend - maybe they're not right.

A night of passion, full of bliss - too late to start the fight.

We don't even know the way - that we should find today.

Our Mother Earth a paradise - with demons on the way.

We don't even know the way - that we should find today.

Our Mother Earth a paradise - with demons on the way.

THE DOG AND THE BEER

Have you seen that old man walking down the street?

Followed by his dog that's running round his feet?

They're going down there same time every day.

They both know where they go down straight away.

They get into that pub to get a drink my dear.

He asks for two pints Guinness everyone can hear.

One for him and one down on the floor.

The little dog starts drinking like each day before.

And I swear - I have been there.

I've seen them having pints they really share.

I still can see the old man there he gives his dog a clap.

And takes that pint half empty from his little chap.

Pours it in his own glass on the bar.

With too much beer my friend you won't get far!

Have you seen that old dog walking down the street?

With eyes so sad and weary on it's aching feet?

It's going down there same time every day.

And seems to know a place down there to stay.

OUR BOY NEEDS HIS DADDY

For too long now - that city job - took you right away.

For too long now - I missed our boy - each and every day.

Our boy needs his Daddy - you know that this is true.

And I know he wants us - to be a family again.

For too long now - we've lived a life - with others on our side.

For too long now - you said to me - I didn't do what's right.

For too long now - I've dreamed of you - every single night.

So please my love - for this time now - let me do it right.

For much too long - we need to be - a family of three.

For much too long - I'm longing for - the father I should be.

ALL THE CHILDREN

Where do all the children stay tonight?

Where do all the people spend the night?

Days of war for such a long time - took your hopes, your love and dreams.

Left your friends and all your family - it was time to run - and face the fear.

Thousand miles away from home now - ninety days and nights so far.

Left your land without a Goodbye - it was time to run - and face the fear.

Like a ship without an anchor - stranded in this no-mans-land.

Well it turned out you're not welcome - it was time to run - and face the fear.

Massive fights around your hometown - you have seen the breaking news.

Ain't no future here nor there now - it is time to run - and face the fear.
